Bedrooms: 4 Sleeps: 8 Minimum Nights: 2
Located on the grounds of Meadow Lane Farm, The 1860's House is the original fully restored family farmhouse that sits on an elevated plateau overlooking the farms spectacular grounds.  Meadow Lane Farm has belonged to the same family since pre-World War II and has served as a family and fisherman's favorite vacation destination for years. The farm consists of 1400 acres of open meadows, shady forests, breathtaking vistas and over two and ½ private miles of The Jackson River, Virginia's finest trout river.  A stay at Meadow Lane Farm is an outdoor enthusiast's oasis with miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking and exclusive river access for the fly-fisherman of all skill levels.
The recent restoration of the 1860's House includes a large country kitchen and dining area will be a favorite gathering spot complete with farmhouse sink, granite counters, and top of the line appliances.  The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed for a vacation getaway.  The cozy family room features a large flat screen TV over the fireplace.  Kids will love their own private den accessed by a back staircase with comfy bean bag chairs, game table and TV.
The home features four bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 guests.  The home has a main floor master suite with king bed and en suite full bath that is completely handicap accessible. The additional three bedrooms are on the second floor with a king bed, queen bed, and two twins.  The second floor guests share two full baths.  All linens and towels are provided for guests.  The home has central A/C but it is rarely needed in the cool Allegheny Mountains.
Outdoors enjoy the beautiful scenery and peaceful evenings on the covered patio with plush outdoor furnishings and outdoor gas grill.  This is the perfect place to unplug and get away from it all or stay in touch with Wi-Fi internet service and satellite TV.
Fly-fishing is open to all guests for catch and release. There are no additional rod fees.  The river will be stocked twice through the end of October.  No spin rods, please.  In addition to fishing, guests have access to the tennis court, outdoor pool (through Labor Day), miles of hiking trails, the barnyard animals, opportunities for wildlife viewing from "The Deck" overlooking the Slough Wildlife Sanctuary where deer, fox, bald eagles and other birds and the occasional bear call home.  For reservations within 3 days of arrival date, please call property manager or Clarkson & Wallace.  Thank you.
